(RTÉ News)  Cystic Fibrosis Ireland has said that a new drug would make a huge difference to the lives of CF patients and lead to a significant reduction in the number of hospital admissions.

The National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics (NCPE) is currently assessing the drug, Orkambi.

Speaking at the CFI’s annual conference, CEO Philip Watt said a survey of members showed that 89% of adults with CF have had an exacerbation of their condition in the past 12 months.
