(BBC) A new search option revealed by Google allows users to play the sounds made by pigs, dogs and bowhead whales.

Typing in the phrase “animal sounds” brings up clips from 19 beasts.

Real animals, including an elephant, a horse and a cat, were recorded to produce the clips, which are available on Android and iOS as well as the web.

While animals like apes, cows and ducks are commonly found in picture books and songs, some of the other sounds are more unusual.

Along with the bowhead whale, Google can also teach you what a raccoon, a turtle and a zebra all sound like.
